In the first Telegram 2023 update, we were presented with 10 innovations.
Chat translation
Premium users can now automatically translate entire chats, groups, and channels from foreign languages to Russian. All you need to do is click the new "Translate" button at the top of the screen. In the drop-down menu next to the button, you can select other languages for translation or hide this button.
Permissions to send media
Group admins can individually allow or disallow members to send nine different types of media - including photos, voice messages, and video messages. You can also turn off text messaging in the group completely.
Auto save received media
You can choose the types of chats that automatically save media to your device's gallery, as well as the size and type of media files that are saved. You can also add exceptions to individual chats so that only photos and videos you want are saved.
Network usage
The updated Network Usage section includes pie charts detailing the use of Wi-Fi and mobile traffic by the Telegram app. It also allows you to change the autoloading settings according to the tariff plans of your providers.
Avatar Builder
Any stickers and animated emoji are now easy to turn into a profile picture for your personal account, group or channel. Animated emoji in Avatar Builder are free for everyone, including those without a Telegram Premium subscription.
You can set or suggest profile pictures to your contacts when you edit their Telegram profile.
Emoji categories
The stickers and emoji panel and the reactions and statuses menu now have a category search. A long press on the emoji before sending allows you to see it in full size.
Selecting chats in the bot interface
Developers can embed buttons in bots to quickly select groups, channels, or people according to preset criteria.
Signing in with Apple and Google ID
Users who have logged out of their account can easily log back in using Apple or Google ID, without the code from SMS. The password for two-step authentication will still be requested, if set.
New Emoji Sets
Telegram artists have traditionally prepared ten new sets of emoji. This time they also included several hundred images specially created for profile, group or channel photos.
New interactive emoji
Telegram artists have created interactive versions of the emoji 🦄🙊💊😘💘🙉. If you send such an emoji to a personal chat in a separate message and then click on it, you will see a full-screen animation simultaneously with your interlocutor. These emoji are also available to all users as reactions.
